A Way To Make (minecraft) Comics! Minecraft Weblog

I'm quite a lot just penning this weblog in order that humans stop asking me for help with comics and in order that a few human beings select up a issue or two from this educational! :)

OH! JUST TO BE CLEAR! I'm no longer gonna train you a way to really draw, and please do not purchase one of those "how 2 do the cartoons" books. I've owned like 7 of them and they've never helped me. I'm a self taught artist and I know it's tough to be that but it's way higher and it enables you discover your very own fashion. :D

It does not actually depend if you may draw or not! I'm absolutely bored with people telling me that they cannot make comics because they cannot draw! I mean look at Cyanide and Happiness the comics appear to be a 1st grader drew them! BUT, it's also a totally succesful webcomic and those do not care about the art they just like the tales because they are splendid and humorous!

Okay, now that I got that available let's get to the fundamentals lets?

Write your comic ideas down- I always assume up of a whole lot of comics, a lot that I continually overlook them! So I always write them down somewhere, on a chunk of paper on Notepad on anything! Just so long as I recollect it, it's very reachable!

Thumbnails- I picked this up from Bryan Lee O'Malley. I make thumbnails to devise out panel layouts on the page. They're just sorta small and crudely drawn "comics". [Here's the thumbnail I used to make "How to construct a Fireplace"] The purple wiggly lines suggest in which text is meant to go. Think of thumbnails as form of as a draft earlier than you write/draw the final factor. Also quite a whole lot nothing is written because I even have all of the script written down on Notepad!

Word balloons- You do recognise what word balloons are proper? Those little balloons wherein the words are? Draw 'em. Without textual content bubbles your comedian just seems lazy. Text have to be clean (MS Paint has terrible text fine ), readable, now not too big or too small, in a few font it's easy to study. (I know Comic Sans is meant to be used for comics however c'mon guys, it truly is not proffesional!)

Backgrounds- May I make a proposal? PLEASE DRAW THEM. Would you instead see a comedian of Steve punching a tree in a FOREST, or could you as a substitute see him punch a tree in an empty white area? I realize, proper? Backgrounds show in which the character is and they are certainly vital.

Read quite a few comics!- Yeah, you should sincerely examine like... a number of comics, I examine comics for two years before I truly started making them in 3rd grade. You'll learn lots of stuff from different comics.
